My package arrived. two Japanese ink lines- larger than the one I've had since the '80s. There are different thicknesses of line, so the larger can be used for bigger, timber type work with a sturdier line. Not that I needed two (or even one more really) but these were less than the cost of one generally.

One of them is very well used- the hole where the line comes out is grooved in all directions from years of use.

It's a bit of bother with the ink- you have to keep adding water every day or two, but the lines are crisp and durable, but go away with a stroke of the plane- especially good for darker wood.

Pic shows pencil and ink lines on walnut.

Very nice, where did you purchase them, if I may ask?

I don't know where Cameron purchased them, but Jim Bode often has them. Some are really quite beautiful.

I made a left handed 'sumisashi' from bamboo in my yard. The bamboo is not quite big enough but it still works.
