Diy jaws for pen blanks

Tried my first pen project this weekend and discovered I did not have a way to chuck the pen blank for drilling on the lathe.
Came up with a quick insert for my Nova chuck . It was intended to be a try it before you build it nice thing.
Made from oak it actually worked out perfectly to the point that I am just going to roll with this protype .

Penturners that require high precision to keep a blank centered will turn the blank between centers, then go to a collet chuck.
