Here is the first box in the Camphor burl that my son gave me for Christmas. This was rough turned, dried in alcohol and finish turned. What a wonderful smelling wood, very fragrant. The wood turned a little fibrously but seemed to sand up nicely.

This box is larger than what I have been turning lately and is a different shape but I was trying to display as much of the eyes on the lid as possible and this is what I came up with. This box is slightly over 3 1/2" in height and diameter.

What can I say? I have come to expect just such a beautiful box each and every time.

Why don't you take a pic of your car or something not so pretty? Your hurting my eyes.

Big Mike......

Another spectacular box..... I think you have about driven me in the box direction. I really like them and there is so many ways to go with them.

Thanks for showing them.

Another winner for sure Big Mike. You certainly have a nack for getting the most out of a block of wood. I like everything about this one.:) :) If I were to try one like this it would have blown up in my face:D

As usual, beautifully done, Michael! I'm thinking you done your son proud!:)

John, I was just reading your signature line and I noticed that we old Nova owners will not be offered shelter from the upcoming explosion. Talking about being the redheaded step child.....:p  :D

As far as the wood, I spent a lot of years impressing him with the fact that you can make pretty things out of pretty wood. I am not sure it took but I guess he did read the Christmas list I made for him.....:p ;) :D
