This is the bowl I showed mounted on my new lathe in the previous post, it's Black Walnut and it's 11-1/2" across by 3" tall with a wall thickness of 3/16". I've only got the first coat of Teak oil on it, it'll get several more coats and than buffed with my beale buffs. The dark spots on the bottom is were I pulled a 16d nail out of it, I filled the hole left behind with black dyed epoxy.
Any comments welcome, Frank

Very nice Frank...really like the nail hole cover up idea. Never through out the history of a nice piece of wood...battle wounds included.

Real pretty Frank. I'm not going to show it to my wife as she thinks a lathe is for making dog bed shavings from 4x4's.

Nice Frank. Very cool. Glad to see that you put that new machine to immediate use.

I really like that form Frank. ....Karl

Careful Karl - you're using spinner words. Could it be that your builder has opened a new portal to the abyss when he dug your new foundation?

Nah, I'm just learnin all them spinny words from youse guys. I'm trying to design a new type of spinny thing that gets me spinning and keeps the work stationary. :D

I like the way your bottom is shaped:eek: . Wait a minute. Let me rephrase that. I like the way you have shaped the bottom of your bowl. There. That's better.

Yes I sign, date, number, and put the type of wood on all my work, I put it between the lines on the bottom. This bowl is number 132
