Folks,
I'm a weekend woodworker. What do you guys think about the Delta TP400LS Planer?

Thanks,

The TP400LS is what Delta used to call the 22-560/22-565. It's a decent planer for the money; not as good as the Delta 22-580 or the Dewalt 735, but very nice. I owned the 22-560 before I upgraded to my J/P combo machine and that planer is still in use by another woodworker who bought it from me.

I've had one about eight months now, no complaints.

Thanks for the comments guys. I have considered the Dewalt DW735. Looks like a solid machine. I have been thinking about getting one of the reconditioned units. I had good luck with a RC biscuit cutter. Where is a good place to find a DW735R?

Check Amazon. Find the refurb area and keep checking back till they have one. They have one every once in a while.

I am currently on my second one. My first was a 22-560 and I flat wore it out - or pushed it too hard may be the better way to put it. I sold it and after some minor work (brushes maybe) I believe it is still in use. I love it and have no complaints about it. Leaves a good surface even on figured wood. I really like the knives in that they have 2 sharpened sides so when one side wears out you can EASILY rotate them in a matter of minutes and get back to work. I have the 4" DC port for it but used a shop vac before and that was OK but not as good as a DC.
