Wood ID

Any ideas what this wood might be? Found in Central NJ. I haven't seen too many like it around me. Smooth bark. Leaves gone. Yellow wood. Tight grain. Lots of rising sap. Splits easier than red oak. Thought it might be ash but bark doesn't seem to suggest that. Any help appreciated.

The bowls look like Ash. The log bits in the street look a bit like Green Ash.
