I recently purchased an Arbortech mini carver at the woodworking show. I also sent away for a Saburrtooth 2” donut wheel. It’s supposed to be compatible with the Arbortech. However I found that the wheel can’t be tightened on to the carver because the base of the wheel is too thin.

I’m thinking that I can create a washer to solve that issue, but before I do something potentially dangerous, I thought I should contact Saburrtooth. I’ve now contacted them twice through their website and haven’t received a response.

Has anyone run into this issue and, if so, how did you resolve it? Thanks.

I use the arbortech carving disc mounted on a 4” angle grinder. That’s not what you’re doing, but close. 4” angle grinders have a 5/8 arbor. Tools which mount to them have a variety of diameters and thicknesses. There’s a whole ecosystem of adapters to hook tools on to the grinder. I’d guess there are similar adapters for that mini grinder, which seems to be a 2” angle grinder.
