Thought I would reply with an update on the previous post. First I want to thank everyone for their assistance. I have ordered both the Grizzly potentiometer for the G0766 lathe and I also ordered the potentiometer in this link

Let me add that both of the potentiometer addressed above will work on my lathe.

I talked to an employee of the Woodworker Shop in Pekin, IL. He said that they were willing to work on my lathe but that there was at least a 2 to 3 month lead time on any new VFDs, when I told him that I didn't think the VFD was the problem and explained what issues I had/have he suggested I look at the power switch. So I took his advice and started looking in another direction. I jumped the switch and my lathe spring to life, it would run with either speed pot I had.

My thoughts on both speed pots are that the better part was actually from Grizzly, for only $3.50 each. Puls tax and shipping.

These parts come with about 3 inch lead wires that are color coded as per their lathe and they were the same color code as the PM lathe. The pots from Amazon did not have these wires and had very small spade terminals that I could not find female terminals for. I believe they could have been soldered if necessary.

Now a little rant about PM, I left messages with the 2 closest PM service centers. Both are in St Louis and about 2.5 hours away. I finally talked to 1 and if I were just a personal user and not industrial they really did not want my business. I would expect more from such a well known company.

In the end, my lathe is running with a few sleepless nights and very little expense. I am quite happy with the outcome
