A neighbor removed an approximate 40 year old viburnum hedge a little less than a year ago and I snagged two of the root balls when they were loading the dumpster. I now wish I would have taken a few more.
The root on the right side of the picture is the one that was used to make this sphere.
Look at that tear out in picture sphere 3. I thought the project was ruined at that point. Started out with a goal of 7" diameter finished and ended up 6 1/2" after I got through with the tear out problems.
