And spent $19. 31 for 2 items, and a mystery...or two..

495617
No markings on it...not even on the back plate..
495618
Not sure why they used a nut &bolt..
495619
Will check the threads, while I tear it down to clean it up....sole could use a bit of work..
495620
As for the other item...
495621
$4.00 Chisel?
495622
1" wide...Logo?
495623
Sold by Mastercraft? C to C means Coast to Coast...might come in handy?

Need to clean them both up...get rid of the thick coats of Clearcoat..yuck
I passed by a #5 Jack Plane by Millers Falls...type 5...meh...one of the last models they made.....$25 + Tax? NOT!

Mastercraft was a Montgomery Wards badge. One of my Stanley #45s has that stamped in the handle.

495700
Largest thumbscrew I had....
495701
Still did not engage the threads in the hole....had the use the nut, again..1/4" bolt just slides right through...

Back in my cabinet scraper hoarding days I had a Stanley 80 with very similar body geometry (screen clip below). Consensus at the time was that it was a very old version. It was one of a half dozen I had managed to collect on rust hunts. I'm down to one Sweetheart Era version now.

I have an old framing square for the SMC Rust Museum Curators to take a look at. It is an oldie with tapered arms and an illegible (to me) bit of makers mark. It is about 1/4 inch thick at the corner and 1/16 thick at the ends.

That brings back memories of the Coast to Coast hardware store in my little town. That was the logo on the front of the store.

Made a run to Lowes, today...bought $3 in Thumbscrews...5/16-18...to replace all 3 thumbscrews one hole no longer has any threads, a 1/4" bolt just slides through...might as well re-tap all three holes for the next size up...Might even drill holes in 2 of the new bolts..fot the "nail" they used to tighten, or loosen these bolts...

Need to dig out my tap & die set...need a tap, and a tap wrench...and a 5/16" nut...so that when I cut these new bolts to length...I won't mess up the threads...too badly...

Stay tuned...

And a few other tools...
495825
To replace old bolts with new ones..
495826
That one was the shortest one of the three..
495827
The other 2 had a lot more distance to cover, though
495828
Also bought with the 3 bolts.....was running low on these brushes....$3.21 counting tax...
