I've been working a lot with my MFT and aftermarket fences and parallel guides. Problem is, to keep them convenient, accessible and pretty much assembled, I'm trying to figure out how to store them. And when I say them, I mean at least two of each. Do I need two of each...no, but some of us like variety I guess. Anyways, I'd love to see some of your solutions to this problem.

My Festool "eight footer" is stored on the wall, hanging vertically. My Festool "55" and shorter Makita are hanging on the end of my mobile clamp cart. In the temporary gara-shop, I had them hanging vertically on the wall, too. The actual MFT fence is a little more complicated to hang because of the hardware that's on it. I have not made the decision on that in the new shop, but it will likely be on the wall near the eight footer and I'll build some kind of fixture that can accommodate the hardware that stays on the MFT rail while allowing it to hang in a sensible way vertically. For parallel guides and other smaller hardware, I'd use a designated drawer.

You might be able to hang the track horizontally with the parallel guides still attached using some FastCap track holders: https://www.fastcap.com/product/track-rack

I'm in the same boat as you, searching for a safe & convenient way to store my fence.

I would love to have a dedicated area for all the fences and fixtures, but lack wall space.

I only have a single fence for my MFT, and built a tray to the bench frame to house it when not in use. This was possible as the MFT is shopmade.

All my other fences/fixtures hang from the ceiling near the machines …

My next shop will have a dedicated area.

They will work with the track since it's just a standard track with extra stuff, but will have to be blocked out from the wall a bit to accommodate the hardware that's attached to the MFT fence. I looked at mine closely today while doing some other things in the shop and can confirm that would be the case.

I made my own holder on my CNC. Basically it’s just a stair step of 1-1/4 ply, threaded screws, pronged t-nuts and at the top a T that is 18” wide so I can get two studs. Lets me store 5 tracks vertically (including my 118”) in a narrow space on my wall. Storing horizontally takes up too much space.

My 8' I store hanging off my garage door rails. I cut one of the MFT fence connectors in half, tied it to the garage door rails and slide it into the MFT for storage.

Regular rails are easy. MFT rails have additional hardware so they cannot be flat to a wall.

To Jim's point, let me be clear, rails are easy to store against a wall, so that's not what I'm asking about. I'm asking, how do you store you're MFT fences, like the ones from Benchdogs, UJK or Dashboard aftermarket fences. I also want to include parallel guides and even rail square stop extensions. All of those can be long, delicate and not flat.

Now you've really raised the bar (pardon the expression), Derek. LOL I wasn't only thinking about the "actual" MFT fence that comes from Festool. The aftermarket stuff is so varied that it may require some creativity. But as I noted in my original reply, things like parallel guides, angle guides and accessories would go in a drawer for me, perhaps with a customized interior to keep things organized. Alternatively, a Systainer or similar can be used for the smaller stuff. In fact TSO is currently heavily advertising foam inserts for the same to go in a Systainer.
