I was watching this video and really want to make one of these, but I can't find any plans.

Anyone have any plans for cabinets that pull down?

Thanks.

Michael,

This is a rudimentary plan (screen capture function at beginning of video) that should help you start your project.

Jacques

Problem I see is calculating the strut force required. It can vary quite a bit depending on load. What happens when you take something heavy off the shelf? Take off your 50 pound anvil and the shelf may fly up and hit you in the nose.

Seems like a lot of work. A normal set of shelves mounted up high and a foot stool work well for me...

Thanks, totally missed that the plans were in the beginning. Printed them out. Couple of weeks away from the workshop being ready, I'll let you know how it goes.

As far as the strut force, the stays are 9kg, so doubt the 50 pound anvil is what it's designed for :).

I'm going to build one without the stay lifts and see if it needs it for what I want. I'm pretty sure this won't work well for heavy stuff, but we will see.

Thanks again.

This wouldn't be as much fun to make, but Rev A Shelf offers a complete ready-to-install pull-down shelf system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDmDNmXx9g0 Around $500.
