Not sure if this has already been posted, but I was in Kmart today and noticed they have started sneaking in a few items like cordless drill sets and some hand tools stuff, the laser level etc. I wonder if eventually they will stock the benchtop stuff. Kind of wierd seeing the Craftsman label in the aisles at Kmart.

I was in an electrical supply house yesterday and noticed they too were putting up a Craftsman display. As long as Wal-Mart is kept out of the picture perhaps this can find some success.

Craftsman and martha steward are two reasons not to shop at k-mart

So, seriously.....is Sears farming out the Craftsman brand to other retailers?

Uh, Rob--did you know that Kmart bought Sears last year and renamed the combined company Sears?

Yes, but I did not know to what extent the brand names would merge. I figured that this would be one of those mergers "on paper". So what about the Craftsman that I saw at an independent supply house? Just wondering....

K-Mart purchased Sears last year. The K-mart stores around here now have Large Kenmore appliances in them just like the mall Sears stores. About two years ago Kroger had Craftsman tools on display around Christmas.

I've read various news articles that seem to imply that the new Sears is trying to distance themselves from the K-Mart name and associated image.

I've seen Craftsman stuff in odd places from time to time. At Christmas time last year, Kroger stores had some Craftsman tools.

Retailers are doing anything they can to stay alive in the shadow of the giant entity that is Wal*Mart.
