I need a new rubber bumper for a Craftsman radial arm saw I picked up. The existing one is rock hard.

The stem looks to be 1/2".

Mcmaster might have something that would work, or you could try searspartsdirect.com. They occasionally have parts for older machines.

I'd just go to the hardware store and buy a rubber bumper, trim it to fit and be done with it.

Plastic wine cork?

Little piece of leather / foam stuck on with doublesided tape.

Rubber cork from hwe store- trim to fit.

If the hole bottoms out, piece of tubing- insert, trim to length.

Strip of rubber, spanning the bumper hole. drill and tap casting, fasten rubber strip with arch in it .

Fit dowel to hole. Fasten rubber block with screw into dowel.

Globs of silicone built up on casting.

Glue rubber block to surface where bumper would land.

Cut off existing bumper, fasten on new rubber piece with screw.

Fit coil spring to hole. fix in place with glob of glue in bottom of hole.

Fit dowel to hole, fasten flat spring metal to dowel with screw.

Fasten piece of rubber bungy strap to another part to provide cushion.
