View Full Version : Garnotec/Garniga shaper tooling distribution through CMT?

I caught the thumbnail of this video and realized this looked a lot like the Garniga multi-use cutter in a CMT box.https://youtu.be/jC2SqTdzIkM

Looking a bit further it's a Garnotec (garniga) multi cutter with a cmt part number. The only caveat being its only available with a 50mm bore. Seems they have a large number of garnotec heads in their European catalog.

Sure looks like my Original Garniga Multiuse from 2002 except the grooving knives look like what Record used after they bought Garniga.
is that a current offering with CMT?
Garniga had a lot of distributors back in the day. They were one of the pioneers of insert tooling early on.
Omas is another Italian tooling company that has designs similar to the early Garniga.

the Multiuse is still my most used cutter in the shop.

I don't see it in the 2020 Italian or 2022 English catalog, however the part number (and buying options) come up in a Google search.

I see the rounding and chamfer knives look like what Record went to with this cutter.
