Does anyone know anything about this table saw. I have a friend who wants to sell it and I am interested but don't know anything about this saw.

I have one in the shed. They are cool old saws until you need to tilt the blade.

What happens when you try to tilt the blade?

It is a Craftsman 100 Table saw. The Power-Bronze finish was introduced in late 1956 (for 1957 models) and lasted to somewhere in 1963. You can fnid the manual for it here (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/487043/Craftsman-113-29991.html).

If that's a photo of the actual saw your friend is selling it's in spectacular shape!
Beautiful looking saw. Get it and use it (without tilting the blade!), or just look at it.

Mine is about the same, but has been modified over the years. I have some used toothy fence track pieces, removed from my saw's extra wings when I replace the fence system, for use with that fence if you buy the saw and decide that you to want to add extra cast iron extension wings to the table.

I think the problem with tilting the arbor is that the blade doesn't stay parallel with the miter slot when you do. That's a problem with a lot of Sears saws. On some, it's possible to align it so the blade does stay parallel with the miter slot. I don't know if it can be done on that saw though.

The blade tilt works fine but it does not move the motor in unison. I have seen two versions one with a hook and eye that pulls the motor over to about 30 degrees max and another that has motor hangers at 90 (zero) 22.5 and 45 degrees.

Update. I looked the manual over. This may have a better motor mount than the one I have.
