Seen in a Wood Magazine video. The work piece is held flush with the router table.

That is the Rockler small parts holder. Link (https://www.rockler.com/rockler-small-piece-holder).

Very similar to a machinist clamp. Just like a wooden parallel clamp but all metal and much smaller.

I think I have one somewhere never used it

How happy are you guys with it after you used it for a while? One trick pony? versatile? use it all the time?

thanks
Ron

Interesting idea. A screw clamp may also be useful for something like this.

Hey Ron, I don't have the tool, but I was checking it out a bit after I saw it on a Woodsmith (I think..) episode. Seems like it could be useful if you do a lot of small parts work but I thought it was a bit pricey and that I could rig up a jig that is just as effective. I haven't done that but that was my takeaway.

I've used my Quick Grip clamps to hold small parts when routing them.
