Nice feature of your Moxon dovetail vise in the annual FWW Tools & Shops issue. Always fun to see someone we know published.

Congratulations Derek, this may get me to purchase an issue of FWW.

I haven't seen a current issue in a few years now.

Congrats Derek!

I've let my FWW subscription lapse, but the Tools and Shops Issue was always a favorite. Lots of good ideas in it.

FWW has screwed up my subscription for the last couple of months. I look forward to seeing it when I get it straightened out.

While it is nice to get something published in FWW, or any magazine for that matter, I would not purchase FWW just to look at a picture of my Moxon vise. FWW asked to publish the photo, but they missed the point that this Moxon is not simply eye candy, but has a few novel features (such as a built-in spacer, dovetail track for clamps, and springs to open the chop).

I had a Shop Tip in the previous edition as well, which was in regard to creating angled sidewalls on bench chisels (for dovetailing). Then there were actual articles in Quercus magazine in two editions this year … and that magazine I would recommend, especially if you are a lover of hand tools. These articles were in memory of the late David Charlesworth.

Warm wishes from Perth for the festive season.
