I was hoping to see security camera footage of that but so far, nothing. Must have been amazing. 64,000 gallons. Glad it happened so early no one was seriously injured.

Wiki says it held 260,000 gallons-- that's nearly 2.1 million pounds of water...

It was acrylic 6.3" thick at the top, and 8.6" at the bottom. I hear river tables are going out of style.

In a month, it will be the 104th anniversary of the Great Boston Molasses flood. A 50 ft high steel tank of molasses ruptured and people drown in molasses. https://www.history.com/news/the-great-molasses-flood-of-1919
However in 1814, a tidal wave of beer flooded through past of london, killing people. https://www.history.com/news/london-beer-flood

And federal revenue agents destroyed so many vats at one time at the Reading PA Brewery, that the beer overflowed the sewers and blew off man hole covers. Per Wikipedia: " On October 27, 1923, The Reading Eagle's front page carried the headline, "Beer Dumped Into Sewers Blows Off Manholes, Floods Two Streets: Populace Rushes to Scene with Kettles, Bottles and Pans for Free Refreshments." Beginning at 8:45 a.m. that morning, U.S. Treasury Department (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Treasury_Department) agent D.D. Gough began carrying out orders to destroy twenty-six of the company's 250-gallon tanks of beer in order to facilitate the brewery's sale to George W. Green of the Reading Tobacco Company.[7] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading_Brewing_Company#cite_note-7)"

"Lots of dead fish, debris - drama" - seems like a likely outcome.

Say it with a British accent and it is classier.

My last house had a 1000 gallon fish tank that the house was built around. The thought of this happening did cross my mind.

Ive heard that some homeowner's policies cost more if you have "larger" aquariums. Did that happen to you?

No it didn't, but my insurance premiums were crazy due to the hurricanes in 2004.

Cleaning was always work, but I managed:

Nice to have. Too much work. Electric bills were insane. Didn't put one in when we moved and renovated our new home. Actually don't miss it.
