A simple box, for a simple plane

A Ward's Master Quality No. 78 ( Stanley) did have a case....except every time I needed the plane...I had to assemble it, then tear it down to put it back in the case...and bang against a Stanley No. 39, 3/8" that it shared the case with....I think I can build a new case, one that I do not need to tear the plane down to put away..so..

Resaw some scraps down to 3/8" thickness.....1/4" x 1/4" Finger/box joints...

Lid is a 6 pc glue-up...open the latch..

And take a look inside..

Bottom is just a 1/4" Plywood panel glued to the bottom of the case....plane sits on a couple wood blocks...

Just glued in place.
