Carl Rogers is rebuilding a rural farmhouse. This episode shows stock removal with kerfing, mortising with spade bits, and other adaptive methods of making do.

Beautiful gate. I'm glad that it's under a roof.

I've been following Carl for awhile. The whole series is worth "binge 'Tubing" for sure. The most recent is the replacement staircase that was necessary to make to replace a 300 year old one that was no longer safe, even to restore. He's hoping to get more time available soon, as he's had to scurry back to the UK frequently for other obligations and that's slowed things up a bit.

What's really nice about this series is the inspiring use of both modern and traditional methods...whatever works to get the job done.

At one point I was thinking they are a pair of hacks but they got remarkably accurate through tenons especially considering the tools they were using. Beautiful gate.

Yea, the combination of methods, tools and available materials can sometimes make things seem sketchy, but the end results have been pretty eye opening.
