Just put Resaw King blade (125"x1"x3tpi) on a Laguna 14SUV & per the hype the blade cuts really well & leaves about 1/2 the saw marks as regular blade. Laguna claims you cut "very smooth wafer thin veneers" anybody know what "wafer thin" is on a tape ? I was cutting some Cherry & Oak to 1/16" and getting smooth consistent thick cuts on aprx. 6" wide stock. I didn't want to put the fence any closer than 1/16" from the blade. I guess could put on a sacrificial fence & not worry but I'm just fooling around testing out the blade & saw. Does anybody using the Resaw king on smaller saws cut "wafer thin" & if so how thick is that ?
Thanks

You want a sacrificial fence to cut really thin veneer, just in case. And you want it to be nearly as tall as the width of the board you want to cut to support the blank as it gets down to the last few slices. And you want a method to hold the workpiece against the fence so you get consistent cuts - and don't cut off any digits.

I generally use 1/16" veneer, so I slice it at 0.085 - 0.090 and drum sand it smooth on both sides. I have cut 0.040" thick slices, and sanded down to 0.020", but that's not typical for my needs.

This is my setup:

That's a Woodmaster CT, 1" x 1.3 tpi, probably not an option for your saw.

I'm in the same camp, 1/16" is a good workable veneer thickness. Anything smaller can be sized with the drum sander, but I don't use veneer that thin.

Nice set up John & thanks for pics. I was thinking of how to do exactly what you built looks very safe & functional. I really can't see needing anything thinner than 1/16" if I did I'd just buy some paper back veneer.
Thanks again

Not going to get much safer than that ! That power feed would be the way to go if your going resaw a bunch, it's a very good idea.
