I live in South East Iowa. I am looking to buy some QSWO for my Craftsman / Stickley furniture projects. Mostly 5/4 and 8/4
Does anyone know of a good source for QSWO in South East Iowa ?

Thanks

It’s not in Iowa but an excellent source is Talerico hardwoods in PA.

I assume there are several variables to this process...
Will kiln dried QSWO lose some of its color Qualities ?
Will it be harder to work with ? hand tools/power tools ?
I have read that some prefer air dried for furniture and it's color characteristics , some prefer kiln dried for the reduced M/C.
I build indoor furniture.

Mike - I'm in the same boat - looking for a decent supplier in northern IL or southern Wisc. I miss being able to run down to Cassens Lumber in Lafayette IN since I moved. If I find a place kinda between us I'll let you know.

I've never seen any color, etc difference from AD to KD with white oak. I'm not aware of any hand tool differences working AD vs KD white oak, though I'm mostly a power tool user, but I'd prefer KD for the increased stability regardless. White oak checks just looking at it; I want to take every precaution to prevent that from happening.
