I am building my real workbench now, and in need for a good front vise.

Saw this Mophorn Woodworking Bench Vise 10.5 Inch on amzon, reviews seem to be good, just wondering If I go with this, will I really be missing something really good and those more expensive vises indeed are different?

Well it could be really good or really bad, depending on quality. Also it may not be the size you expect. Use the dimensions given to sketch it full size then sketch the chops you will make for it. You could get by with chops as thin as 3/4" hardwood. I added 1/8" leather to both chops on mine. With fuzzy surfaces they work really well. Only need to clamp lightly.

I can’t speak to the vise you linked to; however, I have the Yost vice on my auxiliary bench and I’ve never regretted the purchase. It’s only a few bucks more than the one you linked to.

I think the last one I bought (for my dedicated guitar bench) is a Yost like Tim just mentioned. It was perfectly adequate for my needs.

I went and looked at the one Lee Valley is selling. That one looks like an exact copy of the one LV sells for about 50 bucks more. Lee Valley has free shipping right now. I'd spend the 50 bucks to cut down on dissatisfaction risk, and get the stellar Lee Valley backup system.

Free returns on the Amazon vise. Order one and see what you get. Don't like it, send it back and then spend the extra $50 at LV. 4.3 out of 5.0 reviews on Amazon

I was recently considering the same thing, but went with the Yost as others mentioned. Can't compare them directly, but I liked that it has the guides for the slides. Eastwood has the Yost on sale and ended up being the same price as the cheap ones on Amazon once you factor in shipping.
