Imho, value is based on availability and demand. Good luck getting a bronze #4 from the LN site right now so value is way up on the private market. For instance.

Generally yes, but as John notes, availability determines the current value.

One other factor is that the initial cost difference between a bronze vs iron can be as much as $65-75 and that difference impacts resale value.
