I have a piece on a repair project that someone glued up with polyurethane glue.

The glue joint broke and they have asked me to repair it. What's the best way to get the old glue out of the joint? Not much left in the joint but it needs to come out just the same.

I thought the poly glue was pretty strong but in this case it broke. May have been a starved joint. SO I need to clean out what's left and go back in with TB III for the repair.

I'm thinking Maybe acetone or something but I'm not sure. I do not work with poly glue much.

Mike, there may not have been enough moisture in the original glue up. Lacquer thinner may work if the acetone doesn't but acetone should also work.

John.. I was thinking the same thing. I know PG needs moisture to set up and this joint did not seem to have that. New to polyurethane glue. I use TB 3 almost exclusive. Not brokedon't fix it lol.

Ill hit it with some Acetone tonight and see if it will loosen it up

Thanks
