Hi all - While I am new to the forum, I have enjoyed reading numerous postings in the past. Now that I am no longer a "lurker", I have a question.. My neighbor gave me a CM T-583 drill press, but no user manual. I have figured out the belt tensioning device, however, as it sits, the belts are tight on the pulleys and the motor is snug to the mounting plate. I can't see any method to move the belts to adjust the speeds, as they are tight and no slack can be created with the motor tight up against the plate.

If anyone can offer the proper belt part numbers or dimensions, that would be a great help. Otherwise, I may just cut off the current belts and then go try to find some slightly longer. I have searched for an owners manual online with no success - guess the machine is too old.
Thanks - Bob

See if this link gets you anywhere. Don't know if it will help.

I would guess one or both belts is too short. HF sells link belts.

Thank you sir - the snap whole link provided the correct manual. The harbor freight link is to a drill press, but a newer model. Appreciate your help.
