Hi,
Have a customer that wants to wrap their porch posts. I was looking around and found a product called Versawrap. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this kind of product. I was going to use wood, but the idea of PVC is appealing for weather reasons.
Thoughts? Experience?

Once again I recommend the glued on light canvas. It’s a proven method, that would allow you to start the job today.

I've used similar PVC sheet material to fashion tapered porch columns. Working with it is interesting - plastic chips stuck to everything from static electricity. But it cuts, routes, etc. beautifully, and glues really well, too, with the appropriate glue. Paints great and never rots. It's a winner for what you want to do.

I've used the veranda pvc sheet from HD. It worked well for wrap around column bases

Mel, can you expand on that? Not familiar with this technique.

Those look great. Did you make the moldings out of PVC as well?

The panel moulding is pvc, but an off the shelf stock profile.

I bought some of that PVC trim material, and was surprised at the cost. I was expecting construction-lumber prices, and got prices more like fine hardwood prices.
