California has a new program were libraries will loan out a free pass good for any state park. All you need is a library card.They continue the free pass with any forth grader since forth grade studies state history and the missons which are mostly state parks now.
See if your state does anything similar?
My wife bought the federal park lifetime senior pass as soon as she turned 65. Yosemite park is now $20 a day. I think the senior pass is now $82 one time payment. State parks have no lifetime passes, only year long ones.
