Popular Woodworking had a list of lumber yards. It hasn't been maintained for just about three years, however. It listed three in Maine, in Perry, Gorham, and Mexico, none of which are within about two hours of Rockland, so probably too far of a drive.

The Home Woodworker website has a more recent list with several stores. Perhaps one of them is closer.

Good luck. Gary

It's almost three hours, but perhaps worth it if you're buying hundreds of bf at a time, Highland Hardwoods, in Brentwood NH is great. They run a big wholesale operation in addition to retail, you might ask them if they run any deliveries in your direction.

My Father's out there in Newcastle, he stocks upwards of 500 board feet of most species (cherry, poplar, ash, pine) and when he can, orders walnut, oak, purpleheart(some stuff is hard to get right now).
So far all the wholesale suppliers out there will only sell and deliver on orders over 100 board foot, so he sells out from his stash in less than that so smaller scale businesses and hobbyists can get quality wood.
Give him a call, it's all top grade lumber, and he's got a full shop so he can surface anything as well.

Do a good search for 'hardwood dealers near me' or 'hardwood lumber near me'.

I don't know how far you wish to travel but I found a few, one that looks good is https://obrienhardwoods.com/, but they are down in Portland
