Today is the beginning of my 87th year, but the real joy is that it marks the beginning of my 62nd year of marriage to the same great woman. How can one be so lucky?

Congrats!...that should be a mega super gloat. :D That is much better than any tool gloat.

Give her a extra hug from all of us at SMC, and a pat on the back for yourself.

Both are very gloatworthy occasions, Don. Whatever it is you've been doing, it must be the right thing. Continue. :)

If you hadn't posted your age, I was gonna accuse you of marrying that gal when you were about 8. ;)

A Big, Big Congratulations to you Don on both accomplishments. Like Don Selke said, "there must have been something in the water back then", as I also am 67 and in two months and 7 days will have been with my LOML 45 yrs. (Maybe I could get a little extra credit on the 45 yrs, since mine is a RedHead) :D

Wow...isn't that just wonderful. Now Don...it appears that it took you 25 years to convince your lady to marry you...was she playing hard to get  or are you one of those men who has a hard time with commitment? :D

Question Don; After 62 years, do you have to ask her permission to buy a new power tool?:D All kidding aside, You are truly blessed and must have been doing a lot of things right all those years. Congratulations!

Congrats, Don. I'm a neophyte by comparison. A paltry 16 years. After 62, I'd think you could look at something and raise an eyebrow or shrug a shoulder and she'd not only know what you thought, but what you saw - even if she didn't. Very cool.

Don: Every year I hope to gain a little ground on you, but you maintain your lead. I'm about to start 85th of life and in the 61st of marriage. So you are still the leader. Keep it up

Carl, I think we are the tail end of a dying breed. I erred in my marriage years. It is actually the beginning of the 63rd year. I really enjoy your posts and wish the very best to you and your wife.
