HELP NEEDED. Roof for Tapered Stave Bird House

I am making a 16 stave tapered bird house. Finished product is 6 1/2" high. Top outside diameter is 7 3/8", and bottom outside diameter is 4". The bottom will be finished with a round disk maybe the same diameter or slightly larger.
I would like to make the top (roof) out of tapered staves also, but can't get my head around on how to calculate the size, length and angles to cut them out. I would like roof to be 2"- 2 1/2" high and to extend approx.1" over the top. Material is 3/4" pine.
I have made these before but used 2 layers of 2x8 glued together, then tapered to finish, but it makes the house so heavy.
Does anyone out there know how to calculate the stave length, blade angle, and stave taper angle. I would assume the blade angle would be 11 1/4 degrees for 16 staves ????

Here is a helpful link for stave angles (which would be the taper). The bevel will be determined by the pitch. I have that in a book somewhere...

Or is it that the bevel will be determined by the number of staves and the taper will determine the pitch?

Its not unlike a tapered stave drum for which I use large and small circumference to determine taper and the bevel is determined by stave count. Making it come to a point may require a college education.

I used the N Sided Pyramid file and after a few attempts got a respectable product. One thing I found was that the wood being used has to be perfectly flat of with 16 pieces you don't get a round product. I was using a piece of 8" pine that had a very slight bow in it and it was not too good.
Now to figure out how to hold to turn

I am still puzzling over whether or not the pitch affects the bevel? I put a temporary plug in the stave drums for the lathe face plate and tailstock. I think it would work for turning your roof down to a point. I would cut the point free of the tailstock as a last step.

There's a book "Crown Molding and Trim: Install it Like a Pro!" that deals with angles like this. If I recall correctly, it had a section on making "conical" type bird house roofs. Not really conical but muilit-sided pointed roof. I don't know if the book is still being sold.

You could also purchase an excel spreadsheet from him (Wayne Drake) and it would calculate the angles. I think Wayne Drake passed away so I don't know how much of that is still available.
