LOML has been using a TV tray for a side table for too long. The idea is to match a recently built floating wall cabinet. It's approved by SWMBO so let's move on.

The only requirement is a drawer for her TV headphones and her phone.

The side hung drawer uses guides that are wide enough to clear the legs. I wanted a test fit so I made a drawer out of an old IKEA TV stand someone left at the curb.

My trusty MF 9 evens up the top and bottom edges.

The bottom slides in from the back in a fairly traditional drawer manner.

Glenn, are you going to have something above the drawer to prevent the contents from being seen under the floating top?

No. This is a fairly specific use-case piece. The drawer is sized for LOML's BT headphones. She is hearing impaired and these need to be nearby but, she likes to tuck them away when not in use. I will fasten the charging cable(s) discreetly up from the rear and into the drawer.

When standing in the room the angle is such that things shouldn't show very obviously. If I get it right, visually you will see that the top is floating to draw interest but, the contents won't be obvious.

Here's the drawer pull.

Thanks Glenn. That curly maple is going to be spectacular with finish on it.

Thanks Mark. The table is primarily walnut. The pull is tiger maple and the runners are pecan just because I happened to have some nice straight grained pieces on hand. I normally make runners out of maple.
