M12V Router help

I have 2 M12v Hitachi routers, 1 table mounted and 1 for hand use. The one I use for hand held use has problems. It is intermittent and I took it in to tool crib for repair. Got a call from them saying that the speed control module is bad. Quoted $125.00 to fix. $160.00 for a new router. Checked on the net and I can buy a module for about $100.00. Does anyone know if I can repair the module? ( I am an electronics tech) And does anyone know where I can get a schematic for the module.
Any advice will be greatly apreciated.

If you figure it out ,I have a couple one of them,I just bought a replacement.could'nt justify that much to repair it.
