Just finished this read. What I believe is it’s a good guide to hand tool work. For myself I try not to spend time on work that doesn’t show or is not touched in use. In the age of machine tool work it is easier to machine both sides of a board than just one. It’s also easier to position and firmly clamp work when the clamps are part of the machine. Not trying at all to make one or the other the right way they are just different approaches. The book is a good guide for hand tool workers and gives some insight into what was done in the past.

No Jim. It’s a new guide called “Worked”. He does refer back to his joinery publication. It is a good starting place for hand tool woodworker, in my opinion. Deals more with prep and how far you need to go to produce good work.
