From resawn scraps of Ash, Oak, and maple...handcut finger/box joints.....lid was hand sawn off.

Front view...goal was to get the grain to wrap around the sides..

Fingers were laid out, so that a double width finger would be the place to saw the lid off at....equal joints on either side of the cut

Stain is called "Witch's Brew"....followed up with a coat of 1 pound Amber Shellac...followed up with a coat of clear gloss poly on the outsides
