I thought I would try to use thumbnails in a post so as to not take up so much screen space with full size pics when viewing posts. You should be able to click on a thumbnail and it should open the full size pic in a new window.I thought this shop tour would be a way for me to try that. Hope it works OK

Bud Light in fridge. Rocking chair is in the plans. There is a nice plan in the Dec 02 issue of Wood Magazine of a Arts & Crafts style rocker that I am going to make after my upcoming Craft Show (late March). I intend to use that as my "shop beer drinking station"

Noticed you left the refrigerator off of the major equipment list. :)

Nice shop!

I know altitude may be something you need to be careful of, you know with nose bleeds & all. But wouldn't that shop be a lot brighter if you paint the ceiling white? Just thinking, you know you could put a handle extension on the roller & only need to get an a ladder to trim out. I know it doesn't make money like the pens & other things you make but it would be easier on older eyes.

As a matter of fact that is one thing I am going to do this summer - it will definitely make it brighter.

Ken, I sure like your shop. Is that OSB on the ceiling? What did you use on the walls?

Ceilings are particle board and walls are a cheap panneling.

Hey Ken, I've seen both, good and some not so good reports on the Grizz drum sanders. How do you like yours? I'm way off before I can buy one, but it never hurts to get actual user opinions. :)

John, I had some problems with it initially, but got those cured. It has not been an outstanding machine, but does the job.

Ken,

I also have the Grizzly 24" drum sander, bought it several years ago. Of all the Grizzly machines I have purchased this is my least favorite and if I was writing a review it would not fair well. I had simular problems working out lots of bugs when setting up the machine initially, the construction details are very rough/crude.

The only good thing I can say is that the sander is very heavy and powerful, it will do the job if you don't run out of patience and can get everything adjusted properly. Some of the cheap sheet metal I just had to remove, mainly the chain guards.

If I were looking at drum sanders today I think I would look closely at the Delta, it doesn't have dual drums and is less powerfull than the Grizzly but for the type of work I do it would probably be a better machine. My neighbor just purchased the Delta and I can't wait to see how well it performs for him and how well he likes it after using it for awhile. His Delta was setup perfectly right out of the box, went right to work...I had to work on the Grizzly for two days just to get it up to marginal performance.

If I had the time to disassemble the Grizzly I think it could be reworked and with some modifications be a very nice machine. I own the Grizzly Mill Drill and have an old South Bend lathe so I'm sure I could make the required changes to get the sander up to speed, the problem is that as much as the machine costs it burns me up to have to rebuild the thing to make it perform as it should have right out of the box.

You have to be able to code your message in HTML rather than plain text or vBCode. You have to have the thumbnail pictures and the full size versions stored on the web somewhere. In my case I have a web site with 200 mb capacity where I store all my photos, clipart, animations, etc. Then it is a simple matter, by using HTML to tell this server where to retrieve the pictures and how to display them.

Either that or you have to be a :

Keith -- I agree with you 100%. There are better drum sanders out there now. I do believe Grizzly has improved this one (at least that is what has been reported). At the moment mine has a defective starter switch on the motor and I haven't had time to replace.

Hard to explain you have to do some HTML coding to accomplish that. Can't give HTML lessons here -- would take up the whole board.
