Ok so I'm a glutton for punishment

I have 16 out of 33 right so far, should have 17.
Right so far

1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9,18,21,22,23,25,26,27,32

The one I think is right but it won't give me is
#24

Edit in
I figured out #24, they aren't kidding on the spelling

29 so far...I'm missing 17, 28, 30, and 33.

(Note: I've been told I give "devious" a bad name.)

Edit: make that 30...just got #17.

#33 was tricky...just two more to go.

Ok, down to one...somebody want to give me a hint on #30?

Why am I hung up on the notion that 17 has something to do with Festool?:D

Dumb question, folks.

If you type in a wrong answer, will it let you make the correction?

Example #4 - 12 signs of the zodiac. Won't give it to me. Had a typo and made correction.

Bruce

Forget answering, I figured it out, you have to re-type the whole thing.

Hats off to you guys who did this on your own!

I ran down the list just for fun and took the gimmes. Lee DeRaud was well on his way by then, and while I consider myself a non-competitive male, I must admit I wanted to do at least as well as he did.

“Somewhat Intelligent” didn’t sit too well with me tho, so I took a nap and figured out four more! Unfortunately, when I awoke those four had been removed from the test.

I kept at it however ‘till I was into the “Intelligent” range. Then Lee said in his reply to Rob Littleton,

Lemme guess...the other three were 5, 9, and 22?:D
so I figured those could possibly be references to … , and I was right. Thanks Lee for the tip.

I really wanted to get this test nailed down before Vaughn (Wordsmith) McMillan, Ken (Eschew Obfuscation) Garlock, or the dreaded SMC Poet Laureate Dale Thompson, logged in and beat us all. Those guys are dangerous!

…So I decided to start using tools. Research tools. I got a few more so I was into the “Genius” range, but then stumbled upon most of the rest of the answers. Still had to play with a few things but got the green lights. Yeah, nothing like getting a ride across the finish line from momma Google.

To Mensa’s credit they did admit that the test is culturally biased. I would not have taken so long to complete it had I gotten green lights for things like “3 women on a Tuesday”, etc.

What I really want to say is thanks to all you Creekers who are so intelligent in so many ways and daily share yourselves here.

Frank

Lee,
If you are still wondering about #30, think of a country that has another country contained within it.

Lee, If you are still wondering about #30, think of the southernmost country of a continent that has another country contained within it.Whew, that's the last one.
Thanks for the tip: I would have stopped at 32, but I really didn't want those lightweights at Mensa to have bragging rights over the Creek.:D

Bad Form!

No cheating aloud, or allowed.(shrug) Ok, in the interests of full disclosure, I used Google for 1/3 of #31 and 1/2 of #30, plus Frank's hint...call it 31+ "unaided".

maybe its a mac thing...

but when it wont accept 7 days of the week I give up.

it will accept it if I copy and paste it...but not when I type it...

and google has all the answers...so I guess anyone can be a genius with google:-)

I got 13 in the first quick pass, 19 on the next pass (with a bit of thinking), then within 2 minutes had all the answers in front of me, so I eventually scored 100%. Some of the questions had answers I'd have never figured out on my own, but I'm pretty good at research.

Resourcefulness has gotten me much farther in the world than intelligence. ;) I don't know a lot of answers but I can usually find them.

24/33, but am still working. I refuse to cheat or give up. Maybe it's the OC coming out in me.

Well,
having come back to it twice I can happily say I got 2 more, and now have 24. I don't believe I know any of the others.

disclaimer: No search engines, oracles, ouija boards, or voodoo priestesses, were consulted at any time during this process.
