I was a little weary to try it, but I had a box to mark that was too big to fit into my laser, so I tried "Torch Paste" and was pleasantly surprised with the results.
I used a stencil and applied the torch paste through it, let it dry for 2 minutes and then hit it with a heat gun for less than 5 minutes. The mark was dark and permanent (pic attached). This was unfinished wood (due to the heat gun, I doubt it could be used on finished wood) and it came nicely through the stain.
So I just thought that I would post this in case anyone else needs a way to "burn" something that is too big to fit in your laser.
