Pinewood Derby Update and Thanks

Well, all the tips must've worked, because my son won his age group and finished third overall. He would've finished second, but his car got a lousy start in the last heat and he ended up third by less than .005 of a second. The kid who won has a father who is an automotive design engineer and has won it several years running (would like to know what HIS tricks are). The good news is that this is the kid's last year as a cub scout so there is always hope for next year.:D

Thanks to everyone for all the terrific suggestions. My son had a grin on his face a mile wide!!!:D

Thanks for the update Jack, and congrats to your son. I got a kick out of following some of the Pinewood derby links from your post the other day. It's become a pretty serious science, huh?

And I'm with Tyler on this one...no pics, didn't happen. Let's at least see the car. ;)
