Interesting front leg system. Kidding of course. It always scares me Mark to get too far along with detail work like the shell and scrolls. I always worry about banging them around and denting and chipping. At times I can be a real klutz even with large towels and moving blankets. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Coming along very nicely, Mark. I’m looking forward to the progress.

Thanks Dave & Derek. Used a forstner bit in my drill press to remove the bulk of the waste, and cleaned up with gouges and chisels.

Used my brace and bit to drill a 1 inch hole through my mortise and tenon hide glued joint. This will be the mortise for a round tenon that will be wedged. The round tenon will be shaped from the top of the leg.

Took a month break from the shop to repair drywall damage from daughter's overflowing toilet, painting, tree branch trimming, driveway repair....
Glad to be back in the shop

Looks great Mark! What do you have planned for the seat?

Thanks Keegan. I am going to make a poplar frame with jute webbing topped by some foam & covered with tapestry.

Very nice, Mark. I envy the carving skills. Opens up so many possibilities. Look forward to seeing the progress.

I have you beat in the downtime area, though. Haven’t spent much time in the shop all summer so far. The nice weather here in Michigan is just too short not to be outside.

I just caught up. Love the crest rail work and will be following along.

Looking great, my shop time has been very sporadic due to the heat and all the other things that need doing.

knee blocks attached to legs using hot hide glue - used a rub joint because I could not see an easy way to clamp
