question about surfacce prep

afternoon !
enjoying my day off, sanding all the cabinet doors ive been making recently.
so my question is......
doors are poplar frames nad pine beadboard panels.
plan to spray two coats of sw pro block primer (water base) and two coats emerald urethane trim.

ive sanded to 150 with glazing putty for the dents and open areas of grain.
planning to sand to 180 before primer. do i have to sand any finer before primer??

will sand primer with 320, then shoot the paint.

any tips? or suggestions?

Generally, you should follow what the manufacturer recommends for prep work. Normally, I don't sand beyond 150 when doing paint grade work unless I can see scratches that the primer won't fill. This is very rare. In any case, I would not sand beyond 180 for paint work.

I use a fine sanding sponge in the grooves on beaded board. One pass up one side, and the next down the other mating groove. 180 is where I stop when painting.

I lightly abrade with with 150 or so after the first coat of primer/finish to take care of any grain raise and other roughness and rarely sand beyond that unless I discover an issue in a specific place.

I use 180 grit +1 on the Rhynosoft pads.

Bead board is a PITA.
