I don't know if it's the BEST, but I've had good luck with both rubber cement and Contact Cement.

Hi Dennis;
Just about any wood or craft glue will work since cork surface has a lot of "tooth"-just about anu adhesive will stick to it.
Good Luck

I'm having a "deja vu" day: keep seeing questions I asked myself a couple months ago:

In the meantime, I discovered the people that make 'Contact' brand shelf liner make adhesive-backed 1/16" cork in 12"x48" rolls...Home Depot and Ace Hardware both stock it.

I was trying to use the 3M spray adhesive and it did not seem to work to well......and it was very messy.:eek: I am going to try rubber cement and see how that works. And I will probably try the adhesive backed cork that was suggested. Thanks for the help guys.

If I remember correctly, the reason the 3M isn't working is that it has release characteristics for quite a while. At least the one I use to temporarily attach paper to things is that way.

When I make cork bottle stoppers, I use CA to glue the cork to the wood.
