Reminder to protect your planes from corrosion

Actually got a bit sad when i saw these pits on someone's LN#8, which now cost about $500 new.

I don't know much of history on this except it was located about 5 miles from the ocean.

I don't own a $500 plane, not even close, but my Stanley's always get a dose of wax and oil when I put them up. Instead of a till, I keep them in a silicon impregnated sock. Works well.

Thanks for the advice Steve, I'll also pass it on to the owner. I also wax mine and have been trying to keep many of them in gasketed plastic boxes, even so I might start doing a quick monthly/seasonal inspection to catch something I missed.

Some have said you can get most of your money back out of high end planes, but I suspect that will not happen with this one.
