How do you tint epoxy? I remember doing it once in high school but I have forgotten what product we used as the tint. As an addendum, if I routed out a pattern on a flat piece of wood and filled it with tinted epoxy for use outside would the expansion and contraction of the wood around it cause the epoxy to come out or would it hold tight?

Darrick, don't know about tinting, but there are dies that are compatible with epoxy that I often use to fill worm holes. I found it at Woodcraft.

I think what you want are dry artists pigments. You can get them at almost art store and a little goes a long ways.

Unless the epoxy you are using is a special formulation, I don't think it is UV stable. It will hold fine onto the wood, it will just degrade from the sun rays.
