It's only a 6" jointer and I don't use it that often.
I bought the jointer as a floor model for $299 and I could probably sell it tomorrow for $300 or more.

A carbide spiral head for it runs about $390.

Is it worth it?
Which one is best?

How much of a job is it to replace it?

If you don't use it all that often then IMO it would not be worth it.

Honestly, no. Personally, I think there is a lot more bang for the buck for spiral/helical on a thicknesser than on a jointer, but that's just an opinion. I see little benefit on the jointer other than for folks who use highly figured woods and don't want to risk tearout while flattening. But from there, the wider surfaces are going to get processed by a thicknesser or other means anyway. Jointing is an initial step in the milling process.

Exactly what Jim said.

Don't waste your money. Dave hit the key point, you don't use it very often.
