Teak Bath caddy

My buddies wife is pregnant, taken to enjoying her time as a human submarine. I figured I could make her pregnancy just a little easier. Teak bath caddy. Mortise and tenon construction, finished in odies super penetrating oil. Pretty happy with how it all came out.

Hey Justin, beautiful thing. I dare not open this thread in front of my wife because she would want one. For the four "feet" that rest on the tub walls, did you glue those on or cut the shape out of a wider plank? I think I see a color change on the two front corners- very minor color change. That is why I am not sure and am asking.

They were additional glued on pieces. Teak is a little pricey to be wasting too much. Thankfully the stock was a nice uniform color.

oh yeah, it's certainly real teak. The growth rings are super tight too, as opposed to the plantation teak we see a lot nowadays. We're very lucky in Alberta to have WG Chanin hardwoods, Gary has a pretty incredible selection of stock.

Im not a particular authority on it, but in my experience you don't need to finish it at all if you don't want to but oil will prevent it from discoloring.
