Hello everyone here's my latest piece Philodendron
This Segmented piece was made from Teak, it was first turned on the lathe and finished at 7"x 9" tall. After turning the hand carving began and then pyrography for shading the coloring was done with Alcohol Inks and the final finish is satin lacquer.

Thank you Fred and Brian, Teak was used for two reasons this segmented piece was made from a turning I did when I first started turning that was very thick. So I put it back on the lathe and added more rings to get the size and shape I wanted. The other reason is Teak is very nice to carve, it turns very different as well.
