Delta 43-431 w/ 4 speed, 3 wheel power feeder (also Delta)

Hi,

I'm looking at a used shapers and came across a shaper that is 2.5 hrs away (Delta 43-431).. I know prices are crazy right now, but this person is asking $2,200. It LOOKS pretty good from the photos, but that seems like a lot of money. I think it mainly has to do with it being single phase (and I do have 3 phase in my shop.. so prefer the cost savings of buying 3 phase).

anyway, thoughts on price GIVEN that it is 2022. I understand that prices were way less pre-pandemic.

Those are still $500 shapers here in the east. The feeder raises the price, haven't seen too many under $1500 with the feeder.

Yeah, that’s too steep by a large margin in my book, but I’m a bargain hunter so.

What size is the motor and spindle? If I was gonna drop $2k + on a shaper, I would make sure it was 3 phase, 5 hp + and had 1 1/4” spindle and multiple speeds.
