Well I got the machine up and running today, and I think my misfortune turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Quite pleased with the machine, took some figuring as to where I was going to put it, this thing is BIG and HEAVY. But once wired and checked over, it fired right up, and is amazingly quiet, and extreamly smooth. (although I would expect it to be smooth flirting with 1400 lbs)

Tables are both parallel and flat, as is the fence. The knives were within .003" from the service guys... what else can I say, very pleased, nice machine. Also I should note when I say flat... my dad and uncle helped out, and they are both retired mold makers, so this thing was checked out with machinist tools, indicators, shims, you name it, they broke out with it.... imagine woodworkers using micrometers to check dimensions, not repeatability, actual dimensions ha ha. Squared up some rough cut maple in no time, and it was within 0.0025"

hmmmm what do I buy next... :)

Yes, is this a jointer or a TS? Which specific model? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

What's with the hounding for pics? Sheesh.

Jim, I'm glad you like your jointer. My experience mirrors yours regarding Grizzly jointers. I just picked up the very baby brother to your jointer and noticed a few things last night when I fired it up. It's incredibly quiet. Probably the quietest jointer I've ever used, the dust collector is louder. The cuts are very fine. The face jointing I did was a finish surface.

Good to hear you're enjoying your new purchase.

It's in the SMC Terms of Use, Marcus. Didn't you read it when you joined?:D I'm on probation cause I'm still working on getting pics out of my camera and into my computer.

I noticed that nowhere on this thread does the word please appear. I know y'all's mamas raised y'all better than that. ;) (That, and I woke up cranky so take my gripin' with a grain of salt.)
